This year, BASS celebrates the golden anniversary of Reggae music by focussing on the global impact of the genre. Concerts, film screenings and other events will take place throughout October. Some of Reggae’s biggest names from Jamaica and the UK will perform including Toots and the Maytals, Freddie McGregor and Carrol Thompson.

A highlight of the Festival will be an exhibition of 101 reggae-inspired posters, designed by artists and illustrators from around the world. These are the winning entries in the 6th International Reggae Poster Contest, co-founded in 2011 by Michael ‘Freestylee’ Thompson and Maria Papaefstathiou. All posters will be available for purchase via silent auction throughout the exhibition. Proceeds will go to The Alpha Boys’ School which played a foundational role in the development of Jamaican music.
