The Beat of the Lion’s Mind and Heart | Philippines

I wanna show the strength, kingship and pride of being African by representing a Lion with a music boom box and a headset represent their love on music and style with a touch of a sunglasses representing the calming and cool vibes of their music. I got the title from showing the lion’s head which is shape of a heart while the boombox and the headset shows the beat of the heart like a stethoscope where you hear the heart beat of a person.

Jammin! | United States

In my design, I have depicted a dreadlocked woman with her hair covering her face, wearing a blue set of headphones, a red shirt with a heart, and gold charms in her hair. Above her head reads ” We’re Jammin!” in green and red, with golden music notes floating. Finally, she has pink lips and a white line across her neck showing the vibrations flowing through her from the music.

Stir it up | China

The poster idea comes from Bob Marley’s”Stir it up”, a famous reggae song. Reggae music consists predominantly of instrumental remixes of existing recordings , just like stir and mix many materials together. Finally, the poster shows reggae music cozy vibes and makes us feel free at the same time.

Reggae moves us | Finland

While getting to know reggae better I discovered Desmond Dekker’s song called Israelites, I fell in love with the song. Great music doesn’t age. Israel, and Africa, are important to Rastafarians and reggae so I decided to paint this gorgeous bird, a hoopoe, Israel’s national bird. (I didn’t draw the Jamaican’s hummingbird because somebody already did it.) Reggae can make you to fly over the oceans just to enjoy the music the fullest on its birthplace, Jamaica.

REGGAE Dancing Poster | United States

A type-based atmospheric Dancing Poster is another way I’m exploring the Reggae phenomenon. This Poster isn’t afraid to get dirty, minimal and explore a literal twist from the center outwards. The challenge was to capture a very particular vibe and aesthetic with no other visuals but letters and textures. The backdrop is the beginning of 80s – me sitting in a sunny living room in my birth town Riga, being 3 years old, playing with the swedish cubes, retro music on the background. I’m happy! I love this design, brings me back to that moment.

The reggae prince | Poland

While I was creating this poster, i felt really inspired by the little prince story from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry book. I wanted to tell, that reggae world is like a different planet, is something that is always near us and its always somewhere close, doesn’t matter where you are, in which part of our planet. Reggae music is something unique, something like from a different universe, but in the same time feels so natural, like the beat of our hearts. It’s teaching us how to be better persons, like the little prince does.
