My poster, Stop Human Trafficking, brings awareness to the unknown dangers children face everyday. It is my hope that this poster will incite those who take care of young children to teach them to be aware of their surroundings and to avoid contact with strangers – even if they are offering something as harmless as a teddy bear.
Use chess pieces and barcodes to present human trafficking, don’t turn into human trafficking
The poster itself shows the meaning of being caught by strangers for commercial purposes. In this case symbolized with the devil that has a person inside his mouth, and the teeth looks like a cage.
For women who have been victimized by capital, are they really commodities? In our mind, what is the real commodity?
Those who are trafficked, seem to be treated as playthings, and then become commodities. That is not what he or she wants to be, nor is it voluntary for them.
Prohibition of human trafficking
The world we are living in is no more a safe home for us. People are bought and sold because of money. It’s high time we stepped forward to stop this human trafficking in order to save ourselves, our family, the boy next door, the girl next country and thus the whole world. So I wanted to focus on creating awareness to stop human trafficking.
Don’t trust anyone and walk through life without fear.
(I don’t know if I should write the same text as above).
The patterns in the poster are Chinese vendors, meaning selling. Composed of three elements: barcode, population, and opposition, it means rejected human trafficking . Human are not for sale.
Trafficked children are often imprisoned and sexually exploited. That’s what I’ve tried to show here– an innocent child, imprisoned; staring pitifully at the viewer, as if asking for help.
