Kathiana Cardona OpArt

VENEZUELA

Artist and graphic designer. Born in Caracas Venezuela. Coming from a renowned Venezuelan family of artists, at an early age she entered the world of the arts, taking painting lessons with important Venezuelan painters. Kathiana Studied Graphic Design and Visual Arts in Montreal Canada, in Venezuela made a number of workshops of artistic expression, photography and drawing courses. Worked as a professor of graphic design and editorial in the school of Communication at the Santa María University in Caracas Venezuela. Since 1990 she developed her graphic design career independently, working for major international companies and related art in: Venezuela, Colombia, Andean Countries, Caribbean Islands, USA, Germany, India, among others, designing: Corporate identity, magazines, books, editorial, packaging, campaigns and promotions, pop material, illustration, design of exhibition spaces and social poster design. Online jury, preselect committee member for the “Right to education” and collaborate for posterfortomorrow. Her artwork has been selected in international competitions. At present, she lives between Caracas and Bogota.

Frank Arbelo

CUBA

Cuban graphic designer and illustrator. In Cuba he worked in the editorial area and for companies broadcasting culture and music. Since 1997, residing in La Paz, Bolivia, where he has served as art director for design firms. In 2003 he won first price in the category of commercial posters, in the 1th Ibero-American Biennial of Posters in La Paz, Bolivia. In 2006 he won first price in the category of unpublished posters, on the theme of Water and Desertification, in the 9th Mexican International Biennial of Posters. Third place (bronze medal) in a autism themed poster contest organized by the association Diversamente Onlus (2009). Also in 2009, he was apointed jury in Internacional Biennial of Posters in La Paz, Bolivia and participated in the Poster for Tomorrow contest, where his work was among the ten finalists. Recently his work was elected to appear in the volume of LATIN AMERICAN GRAPHIC DESIGN, published in 2008 and ILUSTRATION NOW 4, published in 2011 by the German publishing house Taschen. Eric Francis Eshun

Eric Francis Eshun graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, Kumasi, Ghana with an first class honors degree in Art (Graphic design- Major). I hold Master of Art in African Art and Culture. Born in Elmina, Central Region, Ghana. Lectures in Graphic design, Publication design, Advanced Graphic Application, Digital Imaging at various levels of undergraduate programme in Communication design. Doubles as a freelance Graphic designer based in the Kumasi. Has worked on many branding projects for Ghanaian based multi-national companies. Elmer Sosa

Elmer Sosa is a Graphic Designer, Illustrator and Professor, graduated from Institute of Advanced Studies in Architecture and Design A C. BUAP, with a honorific grade obtained from the University of Las Villas, Santa Clara, Cuba. Poster, Identity, Illustration and political cartoon that is the work he developes. He has taken workshops with Vladimir Chaika, Luba Lukova, Alex Jordan (Nous Travallions Ensemble), Jan Rajlich Jr., Theodora Mantzaris and Poster Design Specialization with Alejandro Magallanes, Antonio Pérez “Ñiko”, Manuel Monroy and Mónica Peón. His poster work has been awared on the MUT ZUR WUT 2011, Heidelberg, Germany, First Place in The 5th International Poster Exhibition WALLS DOWN, Peru 2011-Faber Castell Category, First Place and Award of Excellence in the 2nd International Poster Contest CREACARTEL 2011, Venezuela, and exhibited on the Biennial and Triennial in Turkey, Russia, Iran, USA, Peru, Belgium, Chezc Republic, Slovakia, Japan, Finland, France, Ucraine, Chin, Bolivia and Mexico. Talking about his illustration an cartoon work, he´s been selected in Spain, USA, India, Iran and Mexico, where he won the Grand Prix of the First Cartoon Contest of the newspaper “The People” and Finalist of Tomy Award on-line in XVII Graphic Humor Biennial Cuba, 2011. Nowadays he´s Coordinator of the career of Graphic Design IESAC-BUAP, Art Director from YOMI YOMI STUDIO, founder of the SUPERVOLTA GROUP and Illustrator of differents local, national and international printed media.
